Suspect arrested after deadly early-morning stabbing on St. Helena Island

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - A suspect has been arrested for a deadly stabbing Thursday morning on St. Helena Island, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

According to BCSO, deputies responded to Olde Church Road on St. Helena Island shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday morning to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they say they found 35-year-old Dominick Lesesene lying unresponsive near the road with stab wounds. Lesesene died from his injuries at the scene.

Deputies say witnesses told them there was a physical altercation between Lesesene and 53-year-old Henry James Brown, and that’s when Lesesene was stabbed multiple times. Witnesses also said Brown had left the scene.

Deputies and investigators searched St. Helena for Brown and located him at around 10 a.m.

Brown was arrested and is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
