Driver hits home with car, starts fire in garage

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A driver drove his car into a home before pulling into the garage and allegedly setting the vehicle on fire, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy with the sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. The deputy discovered the fire when he arrived at the scene. He helped evacuate residents from the home.

Deputies located the suspect, 37-year-old Christopher Harper, lying near the fire and were able to drag him away from the scene.

The initial investigation suggests Harper was currently living at the home and is in a relationship with one of the occupants. The incident remains under investigation.
