Suspect charged in fatal shooting on East Gwinnett Street

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -Savannah Police have arrested and charged 21-year-old Demonte Phillips in a weekend shooting that left one person dead.

Officers responded the E. Gwinnett and Paulsen Street area on Saturday to find Calvin Marshall with serious injuries sustained during a shooting. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police say they have charged Phillips with murder and felony false statements.
