SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -An inmate at the Chatham County Detention Center is now dead after he was found unresponsive during a routine check on Wednesday night.
Officers and medical staff were able to revive the inmate. He was taken to a hospital for further treatment but was pronounced dead at 11:29 Saturday morning. The Sheriff’s Office says the death was the result of an apparent suicide.
