2 men charged in deadly shooting on St. Helena Island

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - Two men have been charged with murder after a deadly shooting Wednesday afternoon on St. Helena Island.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Steven Glover was shot and killed on Stonewood Road around 1 p.m.

Deputies say they identified two persons of interest and questioned them. They charged 21-year-old Channon Preston, of St. Helena, and 20-year-old Xavier Polite, of Seabrook, with murder.

Both men were booked at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
