Teen charged in Statesboro homicide investigation

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - The Statesboro Police Department is investigating a homicide at an apartment complex.

Police say patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired at The Hudson Apartments on South Main Street around 9:37 p.m. Friday.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old A’Nayah Davis in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. Davis was transported to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

An arrest has been made in the case. According to the Statesboro Police Department, U.S. marshals arrested a 16-year-old male suspect in Hinesville. No personal information on the suspect has been released because he is underage, but officials say he is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. They say the alleged murder resulted from a personal dispute.
