SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Donald Trump Jr. is coming to Savannah this week for a campaign event.

In a statement from the campaign’s website, it says Trump Jr. “will speak directly with the American people, spreading President Donald J. Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda.”

This campaign event will take place the Savannah Convention Center on Wednesday, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Registration is available online here ->https://bit.ly/33CmbTZ.

According to the event website, those wanting to register for Wednesday’s Make America Great Again gathering can register for two tickets per phone number provided. And all tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

As far as security for the event goes, we’re told Savannah Police will be providing traffic control support, but that’s it. SPD says there won’t be any road closures through the City, adding the Trump team will be coming to the Convention Center in a rolling convoy.

According to the Savannah Convention Center general manager, the scheduling of the event happened quickly, with little detail given other than the doors for the rally open at 5 p.m., and it actually begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.

We’re told Secret Service was due in Monday to get a close look at the Convention Center, and that they’ll likely be the lead agency on security, with all others assisting. As for the number of people allowed to attend, that number isn’t readily available, or what the mask policy will be. But there is a waiver for the registration that by attending, you take your own risk for COVID-19 exposure, and that none of the organizers or facilitators of the event are legally responsible if you get sick.

We’ll have live coverage from outside and inside the event starting early Wednesday and throughout the day on WTOC.
