Georgia rises to over 29,500 COVID-19 cases

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported 29,560 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state,according to the 12 p.m. Tuesday (5/5) update.

The total deaths related to COVID-19 in the state are now at 1,258. A total of 5,574 confirmed cases have been hospitalized.

Over 200,800 coronavirus tests have been conducted statewide.

According to the Coastal Health District, a tenth virus-related death was reported in Chatham County on Monday.
