Ga. surpasses 15,200 cases of COVID-19; over 3,000 hospitalized

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported 15,260 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to the 7 p.m. Wednesday (4/15) update.

The total deaths related to COVID-19 is now at 576. A total of 3,006 confirmed cases are hospitalized.

Five deaths have been reported in Chatham County, two in Bryan County, one death in Bulloch County, one in Effingham County, one in Screven County and one in Toombs County.

Over 64,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted statewide.

The following are the number of confirmed cases for counties in the WTOC viewing area, according to DPH:

  • Chatham County: 160
  • Glynn County: 43
  • Bryan County: 30
  • Effingham County: 24
  • Camden County: 24
  • Bulloch County: 22
  • Liberty County: 26
  • Bacon County: 14
  • Toombs County: 17
  • Appling County: 14
  • Screven County: 9
  • Tattnall County: 5
  • Candler County: 4
  • Wayne County: 6
  • McIntosh County: 3
  • Long County: 2
  • Evans County: 2
  • Montgomery County: 2
  • Jeff Davis: 2

DPH releases new numbers daily at noon and 7 p.m.
