PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Port Wentworth mayor has suspended Steve Davis, the interim city administrator.
Councilwoman Linda Smith confirmed the report.
The city is not giving a reason for the suspension.
City council hired a consultant to work with the city during the suspension.
The council has been at odds for months over Davis' hiring.
Davis and members of council who voted to hire him say they broke no laws in the hiring.
