Deontay Wilder Claims His Heavy Uniform Beat Him, Not Tyson Fury

Maybe next time Deontay Wilder should consider a costume in a lighter material.

The boxer is s seeking a rematch against Tyson Fury after Saturday’s defeat due to the weight of the 45 LB. costume during his entrance.

Wilder is looking to exercise his rematch clause against Fury (despite his technical knockout), claiming that the weight of the costume weakened his legs, ultimately affecting his stamina.

While speaking withYahoo Sports, the Alabama native said:“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is… that my uniform was way too heavy for me… I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.”

Interesting. Despite his claims, Wilder congratulated Fury on his victory:

“I’m super happy for Tyson Fury, and I really want to give him my complete congratulations.”
