SC flu cases on the rise

SOUTH CAROLINA (WSAV) -- This flu season has seen more than 5,400 flu-related hospitalizations and more than 100 flu-related deaths in South Carolina. Doctors remind people -- especially the vulnerable -- that getting the flu shot may help save your or another's life.

Dr. Anna Kathryn Burch with Prisma Health says, "Getting a flu shot can be helpful so they are still available if your child or yourself have not gotten the flu shot please go out and get one. It might not 100% protect you from getting the flu, but what I can do for you is keep you out of the hospital and keep you from dying."
