Metter Police Chief Rob Shore resigns

METTER, Ga. (WSAV) — Metter Police Department (MPD) Chief Rob Shore has announced his resignation effective February 28.

MPD made the announcement on Facebook that Shore would be leaving on Thursday, Feb. 13. Shore has served as police chief since Jan. 2018, when he was appointed to the position. He joined the department as captain in 2016.

“Obviously my career is immensely important, but there are times in life when we have to balance priorities and responsibilities.” Shore said in his resignation letter. “I am strongly committed in making the transition process as smooth as possible and will ensure that all my duties are completed before my last day of work.”

“I would like to thank the City of Metter and its citizens for the wonderful opportunity I had to work here as Chief of Police and become a part of this community," Shore said in a statement to the public. "I have formed some lifelong friendships here for which I am very grateful. That said, it is time for me to explore new opportunities that will best suit my skill set and will be in the best interests of my family.”
