SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A Florida man accused in a shooting was taken into custody by the Savannah Police Department (SPD) early Sunday morning.
The day after Thanksgiving, 23-year-old Ronnie Morton III allegedly shot a man several times and hit four bystanders outside of a sports bar in Bradenton, Florida.
The victims of the shooting were each treated and released from Florida hospitals.
Morton eluded law enforcement for over a week before his cell phone was pinged as he was traveling from Florida on an Amtrak train bound for North Carolina, the Florida Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
