Nashville Electric Service is suspending shut-offs this week as Middle Tennessee deals with a heatwave. The utility says they are delaying disconnections for nonpayment until next Monday so that households can still keep cool. A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of the Midstate through Friday night. NES officials are urging anyone who is struggling to pay their electric bill to contact their customer relations department to get information on assistance programs
