Cam Newton Getting Released from Panthers!

The Carolina Panthers are expected to release quarterback Cam Newton after a nine year relationship. According to ESPN, a week ago the Panthers announced that they had given Newton permission to seek a trade. Newton did not agree to this and took to Twitter saying that the Panthers "forced me into this.''

Within a few hours of that tweet, news surfaced the Panthers were completing a deal to sign former New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million deal.

After the deal was completed with Bridgewater, they had to release Newton to clear the $21.1 million salary cap in 2020.
