The owner of the Bier Haus, Marshall Urstadt, lost his battle with COVID-19 last week.
On July 15, a friend of Marshall's, Nick Lambros, owner of Ben's Neighborhood Grill and Tap, started a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to keep the Bier Haus afloat while Urstadt was fighting for his life in the ICU.
Lambros updated the page on August 7, saying, "It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of Marshall Urstadt. He passed away this morning. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends...and me."
Lambros said they're now focusing on the immediate needs of the Urstadt family and Bier Haus. "Our focus now will be to the immediate needs of his family and employees as they grieve from this tragic loss of a son and a good friend. May his memory be eternal. Thank you again for your help everyone and God bless."
