Congress finally reached an agreement on a 2 Trillion dollar Corona-virus stimulus bill to help the economy in this uncertain time. Like many, I'm not the most political person but this is something that affects us and there's way more to it than just every family receiving a check. Here are some key points that I learned from the bill
The plan states that Single Americans would receive $1200, married couples would get $2400, & parents would see $500 for each child under the age of 17.
The payment amount phases out for individuals with gross incomes of more than 75,000....& those making more than $99,000 don’t qualify at all.
Student loans are also suspended without penalty for at least 60 days although the bill says that’s the case until September 30th
The federal government would give jobless workers an extra $600 a week for four months
The legislation prohibits federally elected officials and their immediate relatives (including Trump) from obtaining funds from the $500 billion lending program set to help air carriers and businesses that work in national security.
The stimullus package provides close to $117 billion for hospitals
Those with federally backed mortgage loans who have tenants would also not to be allowed to evict tenants solely for failure to pay rent for a 120 day period, & they may not charge fees or penalties to tenants for failing to pay rent
