Baka Not Nice Says Drake Told Him To Ignore Kendrick Lamar Diss

Baka Not Nice wanted to unleash his fury at Kendrick Lamar immediately after he dropped "Not Like Us" but decided not to after a meaningful conversation with Drake.

In an interview Hot Freestyle posted on Monday, April 7, the Canadian rapper revealed his plan to respond shortly after Lamar mentioned him in his Grammy award-winning diss track. He said he wanted to take direct aim at the Compton rapper on wax, but Drake convinced him not to.

"Where I come from, that s**t doesn't happen," Baka explained. "You can't just call out a man and not have paperwork to back up your talks."

"That's just ludicrous, and then to see a whole nation behind it and celebrating it like it's a true story is unbelievable cause everybody has to understand: I have a kid, Drake has a kid, you know what I mean?" he continued. "Making accusations like that are ridiculous and out of this world."

"I was building up a lot of anger and stuff like that, but then I got a call, but I don't know why I got this call," he added. "It's like God said something to him... he messaged me, and he's like, 'Yo, I know what you're feeling, I know you as an individual. I know how you get down, but I'm just letting you know, don't listen to the noise cause it's noise.'"

Baka was one of several OVO members who caught stray bullets on Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us." The 46-year-old artist was mentioned at the end of the first verse, in which Lamar raps "Baka got a weird case, why is he around?/Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles." The case Dot mentioned stems from allegations of a 22-year-old woman who claimed the rapper forced her into prostitution and stole her money. He was arrested and charged in 2014, however, the case was dropped after the plaintiff declined to testify.

Although Baka was fuming at the time, Drake managed to calm him down and got him to ignore the noise. Drizzy told him most of the comments about the record came from bots and other faux accounts on social media. He also tried to put a positive spin on everyone saying his name online.
