Cardi B is flat-out denying a rumor that's been floating around ever since she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris during her run for president.

On Thursday, November 14, conservative pundit Candace Owens reached out to the Grammy award-winning rapper on X to seek out a comment on a story she's working on. Owens asked if she was paid to deliver a speech at Vice President Harris' rally in West Allis, WI. before Election Day. Shortly after she posted the request, Bardi swiftly responded and confirmed she didn't get a check. In fact, she actually came out of pocket just to attend the event.

"I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!!" she wrote. "I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be.. Like please girl you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE."

Cardi B was one of several celebrities who were accused of receiving payments for endorsing VP Harris for president. Oprah Winfrey recently put out a statement in which she denied getting a "personal fee" for her involvement with the Harris/Walz campaign. Some outlets reported that the campaign paid $15 million for event production including $1 million that went to Winfrey's production company Harpo. The payment was to cover the cost for the campaign's "United For America" live-stream, which featured an interview between VP Harris and Winfrey as well as appearances from other celebrities.

“The campaign paid for the production costs of ‘Unite for America,’ a live-streaming event that took place Sept. 19 outside Detroit, Mich.,” a spokesperson for Harpo told Variety. “Oprah Winfrey was at no point during the campaign paid a personal fee, nor did she receive a fee from Harpo.”

Cardi B has been vocal about politics for the past two election cycles. Following her endorsement of Joe Biden in 2020, Bardi held off on endorsing another candidate after Biden attempted to run for reelection. However, once VP Harris entered the race, she changed her mind and supported her. However, she was understandably upset when Harris lost to former president Donald Trump.
