Kim & Kanye Hire Private Firefighters To Save Neighborhood From Wildfire

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did everything they could to save their home from the on-going California wildfire.

According to TMZ, "the couple hired a private team to battle the flames on their property." The team was reportedly armed with hoses to combat the flames, and even dug ditches to create a fire break. Their efforts not only successfully saved the Wests' $60 million mansion, but also the A-list couple's neighbors' homes. Since the couple's house "sits at the end of a cul-de-sac and borders a field" it is believed that if it caught fire it would have started "a domino effect on the whole neighborhood."

As previously reported, the blaze reached Kim and Kanye's home — which they spent years building and only finished building earlier this year — on Friday (November 9). TMZ reported that flames had reached their property, however, they had not reached their main house.

On Thursday (November 8), Kim announced that she and her family were evacuating Calabasas due to the Woolsey fire. The reality star documented her evacuation on Instagram Story. "Pray for Calabasas," she wrote over footage of the fire taken from her airplane. "Just landed back home and had 1 hour to pack up & evacuate our home. I pray everyone is safe."

The Woolsey wildfire is the most destructive wildfire in California history. According to CNN, "Northern California's Camp Fire has already torched more than 6,400 homes and killed 29 people. If the death toll gets any worse, it will be the deadliest wildfire in California history."
