BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday morning on Lady’s Island.
According to the sheriff’s office, a woman was shot by unknown subjects near Katy Circle at approximately 11:20 a.m.
The sheriff’s office believes the subjects were traveling in a vehicle and left the scene immediately after the shooting.
Lady’s Island Middle School was placed on a lockdown due to the proximity to Katy Circle. The sheriff’s office states all students are safe.
The victim was taken to a hospital.
