Gucci Mane had his day in court today (Wednesday) and pleaded guilty to felony gun possession.
The Atlanta rapper, born Radric Davis, has already been in custody for 11 months. Today he was sentenced to a total of 39 months in prison, which means he'll have to serve 28 more months. Once released, he'll still face three years of probation.
The charge stems from two incidents last September. Gucci's indictment claims he was caught with a Taurus 45-caliber handgun and eight rounds of ammunition. Two days later, a friend concerned about the rapper’s behavior called Atlanta police, who found him in possession of another handgun and a small amount of weed.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gucci wants to get away from bad influences in Atlanta and asked to serve his time in a West Coast prison with a drug rehab program.
TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- Some people never learn.
- Gucci is mentally ill. Why isn't anyone acknowledging that?
