Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna are among the artists who could pick up some hardware at this Sunday's BET Awards.  The ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, with host Chris Tucker. 

Beyonce, Rihanna and Alicia Keys were all given nods in one of the top categories, Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.  In the male version of the category are JT, Miguel, Bruno Mars and Usher.  Rihanna snagged nominations in two other categories as well - for Video of the Year for "Diamonds" and Viewers Choice.  Timberlake's video for "Suit & Tie" with Jay-Z is also a nominee. 

Other noteworthy artists in the running this year include British singers Rita Ora and Emeli Sande, both in the Best International Act category.  Fourteen-year-old Jaden Smith is nominated for Young Star prize, as well. 

Among the performers this year are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg. 

The 2013 BET Awards will air live starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.
